A refugee, Lina, has fled her home in Afghanistan to the neighbouring country of Pakistan. She finds herself in a refugee camp with people that share the same story as her, as they have also left their lives in Afghanistan behind due to the danger. As the relief workers throw bags of clothes to the crowd of refugees, Lina discovers a sandal. Lina is so memorised by this sandal, as she has not worn shoes in two years. As she looks around for the other matching sandal, she sees a girl standing with it on, this girl then starts to walk away. However, the book ends with both girls becoming friends, which is further emphasised by the two sandals bringing them together. (Words by Werdha Amjad)
