A wonderful narrative poem with a repeating rhyme and rhythm which tells the story of a disgruntled giant who feels his diet and life might be improved by eating this 'Jack' boy that gave his brother some trouble. With a nod at Oscar Wilde's 'Selfish Giant' this story celebrates the importance of looking beyond the surface of someone to help them find their inner good. Davies illustrations add so much to the world that Woollard has created so well.
