KS1/KS2
The story follows the two friends as Adin moves out of their cherry tree covered village and into the neighbouring city. Aerts perfectly depicts the challenges of moving away from the peaceful countryside and being torn from a best friend. The theme of cherry trees is drawn throughout the story as Adin flies paper planes with cherry pits off of his tower block flat and aiming back to Dina. The story ends with the cherry pits creating cherry blossom from Adin’s flat all the way back to Dina in the countryside.
