KS1/2

This is a story for everyone - both young and old for it is a story about the importance of individuality and the struggle it can take to find your place in the world. Deacon's words are seemlessly complimented by Schwarz's lovely little finger-print Finches. It is a book that asks questions about identity and the qualities we need to stand up and out for what we believe in) in a simple, humorous way. Lost in a crowd of other Finches, Henry wakes up one day with a thought unlike any he has had before: he wishes to aspire to greatness and make his mark on the world. Although his journey is riddled with mistakes, he returns to his flock the better for it and with an important message: we can and should celebrate our unqiueness. There is much cross-curricular potential with this book throughout the whole school.
